Distinctive Interiors is a full service, award-winning Interior Design company offering Luxury Residential and Commercial Services. We are licensed by the State of Florida Architectural Board (FL License #ID6153) and are fully insured.

We offer the most unique and "distinctive" furnishings & products, pulling from an assortment of over 300+ manufacturers, custom craftsmen and tradespeople as well as importing from Europe.

We provide Full Service Design meaning we can design your home from concept and preliminary design through to final installation/completion.

Although located in Sarasota and focused primarily in the Sarasota / Lakewood Ranch areas; we additionally provide design services & products for various projects throughout the US including; New Jersey, Connecticut, Oklahoma and Texas.

OUR TEAM

Owner & Principal Designer, Stephanie Nolan has over 30+ years in the Interior Design industry. Formally trained, NCIDQ Certified and a Professional Member of ASID, Stephanie has been recognized being published nationally & locally for her award-winning designs. She obtained her Interior Design, B.S. degree from Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts and has been a practicing Interior Designer since graduating in 1990. She is licensed by the State of FL Architectural Board (Florida License # ID6153).

She established Distinctive Interiors in 2015, after nearly 25 years of working in architectural firms and interior design companies.

Her personal home was featured nationally on HGTV's "National Open House" in 2006 (Season 3, Episode 13).

In 2017, she was selected as the Sarasota designer to work with Celebrity Designer, Thom Filicia (from Bravo TV) on his Celebrity Showhouse. Stephanie worked with Thom to design a home which featured Thom's furniture, fabrics, artwork & wallcoverings. The property sold within hours of it's open house and was published nationally in "Florida Home & Design Magazine" in Fall of 2017.

Additionally, Stephanie designed NFL Celebrity, Terry Bradshaw's Florida home located within The Concession in Lakewood Ranch. She continues to work with the Bradshaws on projects at their various properties including their Oklahoma ranch showcased on their current TV series "The Bradshaw Bunch" televised on the E! network.

Barbara Benigni, Allied ASID is a Senior Interior Designer with a extensive background in the luxury residential building industry. Barbara's unique design portfolio includes custom wine rooms, Himalayan salt therapy rooms, saunas and golf simulation rooms. Her design background includes resort-style outdoor spaces with cabanas, outdoor fire elements, golf putting greens and custom pools with integrated fire features and the most varied, original and opulent spaces offered within the high-end marketplace. She studied at the International Academy of Design & Technology and obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design. Her unique model work has been published in Home & Design Magazine, Scene Magazine & Sarasota Magazine. Additionally, her designs have earned numerous Parade of Home Awards.

Jim Nolan is our VP of Finance, handles financials and also responsible for scheduling and managing all of our trades, vendors & subcontractors.

Valentina Puscuta is our Accountant and keeps our office on point keeping our accounting/books in order.

Our Design Assistants consist of MaryKate & Genie. Our Assistants perform our weekly order tracking on our vast product orders, assist with design presentations, assist on installations, and keep our beautiful office organized.

Tasha is our Office Dog, and she eagerly greets all of our clients & delivery people and she loves getting treats from our daily visitors. A "working dog" she was published in Home & Design Magazine Suncoast Edition Fall 2023 (modeling on one of our Master Bedroom shots) and she will be featured in Greenhouse Fabrics 2024 Calendar as "Ms. July".
