After visiting the latest lighting markets and seeing the newest fixture designs that will be released, as well as reviewing & reading the industry journals it appears that today's lighting is trending towards a stylistic direction featuring organic motifs and natural materials. 2026 Lighting Trends also seem to be embracing storytelling, craftsmanship and sustainability. One of the main elements for 2026 is the interplay between “fire and water”.   Designers are seeing many pressed or slumped glass features mimicking water flowing droplets, shimmering waves or organic distortions.   This creates lighting fixtures that feel fluid, alive and poetic.

Reclaimed or natural materials such has coco bean, wicker, shell or stone are being more widely seen and incorporated into many manufacturers’ offerings.   Nature continues to be a major motif in a great number of lighting selections/designs .   Raw & reclaimed materials are also front and center.   There has been a growing embrace of “wabi-sabi”, the Japanese aesthetic that celebrates imperfection.  We are also seeing light fixture designs that follow organic, natural tendencies rather than rigid symmetry.  Think lots of flowing, flowery or curved frames.

Another major trend has been the incorporation of Alabaster.   A natural stone, when lit gives a beautiful, soft diffused glow.  We personally love incorporating alabaster fixtures as each piece is truly unique with it’s own coloring, veining and translucency.

We feel this naturalistic motif is here to stay and are excited to see how it will continue to develop!
