Do or Don’t - Colored Plumbing Fixtures ???

Since 2023 there has been a resurgence with plumbing fixtures (sinks & toilets) available in various colors. Kohler is currently offering fixtures in Peachblow, Teal, Ice Grey, Aspen Green, Spring Black/Black and Spring Green.....
How do we feel about that ?
Well, I can say I do remember the seventies (I was a child of course) the brown, the avocado and gold appliances in nearly every kitchen. I do remember plumbing fixtures (sinks and toilets) in pastel colors of yellows, blues and greens…..In the eighties, I also do remember a wineberry toilet & bathtub.
Would I recommend a colored fixture to one of my clients today? Probably, only in a Powder Bathroom. Typically, powder bathrooms are a bit more whimsical than the rest of the home. We like to make the Powder Bathrooms, fun, unexpected and very creative. So in this location why not? Kohler has some pretty emerald green selections (Click here for their latest collection), black of course is always been around and now you can even do pink…..
Otherwise, I would stay with white (or ivory/bisque if the homeowner is opposed to white) everywhere else.
Generally, toilets are in place for at least 20 years (or longer) so they are just something that won’t be changed, same with bathtubs and sinks. Bathroom renovations can be costly, so best to stay in the neutrals for longevity.
