Decorating your Home with Seasonal Decor

Here are some easy inexpensive ways to incorporate some different seasonal items into your home. Â Rotate every few months so your decor stays in line with the weather and time of year.
-Accent pillows (on Living Rm Upholstery or Master Bedroom Bed)
Change & rotate pillows based on seasons and holidays. Â This is an easy way to introduce new colors, holiday or occasion touches. Â At the holidays think jewel tones or metallics, at spring bring in soft pastels, for summer choose brighter colors like sun-drenched yellow and bright tangerine or cyan.
-Decor Vases at Kitchen Island or Dining Table. Gather a trio of clear tall glass vases at different heights; fill with seasonal decor items and change at each holiday or time of year.
Fill with bright or metallic ornaments at Christmas, wood or decoupage easter eggs at spring, seashells & sand at summer, fall leaves & branches at fall, etc.
-Add a wreath at your front door that reflects the time of year is always good.  Who doesn’t like a balsam fir wreath with a beautiful bow at the holidays or a pretty floral in the spring?
-Decorate plain simple green topiaries (interior or exterior) with decorations that fit the time of year. Â A pretty red/white/blue ribbon at July, faux apple blossoms at spring, ornaments & bows at the holidays, etc.
-Bathroom Soaps. I love gathering french milled soaps or handmade soaps in seasonal scents and colors that fit the time of year. Use a fresh citrus or lemon in spring or summer, peppermint or wintergreen at winter, pumpkin or cinnamon in fall.
-Bedding & Linens. Flannel sheets and cozy brushed cottons are wonderful for cold winter nights, while crisp cotton percale or bamboo are perfect for spring & summer. Â Rotate bed linens and top your beds with lightweight coverlet for spring & summer. Â Utilize a duvet with feather insert or comforter for cozy winter evenings. Â Heavier fabrics for winter wear and lighter cottons and bamboo fibers for spring & summer.
