Being based in Florida pretty much all of our clients have a pool and why not add furnishings in your pool? You can maximize your pool and use it for sunning, lounging or relaxing on/in furniture as well as for swimming and floating. If you make the investment in a pool - why not deck it out and make it as Resort like as possible?
Sun shelves within your pool allow chaise lounges or chairs which let the body to be partially submerged in shallow water which of course helps keeps us cool during the hot summer months. We typically add a spot for umbrella (made to be immersed in water) and even tables can be put into the pool. Of course, all of these things need to be considered while designing your pool (another reason why you should hire a designer at the start of your building or renovation project).
These In-Pool furnishings are fabricated to be specifically to be located within the waterline and be in water 24/7. Most have a hole within their frame in which water is added to keep furnishings weighed down. When filling, be careful not to scrape furniture on stone pavers or decking or even the interior pool surface! Because these furnishings are all made of plastic resins, they can scrape easily (especially if rubbed against a rough surface).
Types of In Pool Furniture include:
-Tanning Ledge Chairs / Chaise Lounges: Furniture that allows comfortable reclining while in your pool
-Side Tables: Convenient table surface for placing drinks or snacks (or waterproofed phone)
-Sectionals: Allows entertaining a large crowd or multiple guests, they create an inviting space for conversation or lounging
-Ice Boxes/Beverage Caddies: Table w/lid and internal space for cold beverages on ice, so you can access chilled drinks without leaving the pool
-Umbrellas: Provide shade, so you can enjoy the water without full sun exposure
If you are going to make the investment in a pool, do the preliminary planning during the design phase to plan for these elements.
