Being based out of Sarasota, Florida; we just love, love, love incorporating natural seashells into our Coastal Design projects.

Here are some simple ways you too can add those Designer Touches:

Mirrors - we love decorating with shell mirrors.... You can buy from the luxury marketplace or for a budget price at your local Home Decor store. Or create your own; purchase a simple wood framed mirror, and use a strong adhesive like Liquid Nails or a sturdy glue like E-6000. Hot glue won't have the longevity and you will be dealing with falling shells. Best to do this project outside or in a garage with lots of fresh air & ventilation!

Shell Artwork.... I have found many, many beautiful framed natural seashell artwork pieces over the years at my local Home Decor store. As Designers, we have sources that create custom pieces for us - but we do occasionally find Shell Artwork at places like Homegoods or Homesense. If you see one, be sure to put it in your cart - as it won't last!

Shell Chandeliers - Yes, you can find lighting made completely out of natural shells. Most manufacturers use a flat capiz shell, but you can find different types of shell lighting.

Glass Bowl or Cannister filled with Shells. We like to use clear glass (so all will show through) add shells from your beach finds or order shells in bulk online. This is a beautiful way to show off your shell collection. Use to accessorize your coffee table, on a bookshelf, console or even your bathroom countertop!

Large Shell on a Pedestal. We have purchased beautiful large Natilus Shells and placed them on clear acrylic pedestals and accessorized bookshelves with them. They can be a bit delicate so best to place in an area that won't be touched or moved around. We especially love the pearlized natilus shells. Consider adding a dab of museum putty (to help hold the shell in place).

Happy Shelling !!!
